Name the Bald Eagle at Maymont Park

Peacemaker of the Year Nominations

Vietnam War Era Exhibitions at Virginia Historical Society
Three diverse exhibitions explore the distinctions of that time. Soul Soldiers: African Americans and the Vietnam Era, Marking Time: Voyage to Vietnam, and Bring Paul Home: Phyllis Galanti and Vietnam War POWs run from June 6-Aug 30. Admission is free, to honor military personnel who served in the Vietnam War. In conjunction with the exhibitions, the society is collecting personal stories from Virginia residents about their Vietnam era experiences at their web site. Risk of stroke is greater among African Americans than in any other group—twice as much as Caucasians, four times as much in the 35-54 age group. Free Educational Programs for Homeschoolers
The Virginia Historical Society (VHS) is offering free educational programs for homeschoolers this summer, with educator-led history presentations at 2pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays in June and July.
